I'm not sure who owns the lot but it's definitely a lopsided system. The DA doesn't have to file charges for 72 hours while you sit in jail - not including weekends but the impound lot can begin accruing charges immediately. You have to pay the impound fees whether you're charged or not. And this after you've spent a few days in jail. Go figure.

I've been there, brother got of realitvly cheap!!!! point of interest, does some retired cop own the impound lot?
